Stevai began with a simple observation: the compute we need for AI already exists — it's just idle, scattered, and locked inside a handful of clouds. Here's the thinking that turned that observation into a network.

The name

Stevai is named after Steve Jobs.

Jobs is the reason for the name, and the reason for the philosophy. He believed the best technology gets out of your way — that real sophistication is simplicity, and that a product should just work without asking you to understand the machinery underneath.

That is exactly the promise here. Earning from your hardware, or running a a model in the regions you choose, should take zero technical skill. No drivers, no tuning, no rituals — you plug in, and it works. Stevai is what happens when you point that “it just works” standard at the messy world of distributed AI compute.

AI is getting expensive — fast

The cost of running frontier AI keeps climbing, and it's concentrated in a few hyperscalers. Stevai spreads the AI workload across hardware that already exists, driving the price back down.

Open models are catching up

We're nearing the moment when open-weight models rival the best proprietary models — it will still take time, but the gap is closing. When capable models are open, where you run them becomes the differentiator.

Idle hardware should earn

Companies own servers and GPUs that sit unused for hours a day. Stevai lets them earn from that idle capacity — and reinvest it into the next generation of hardware.

You choose which regions run it

Decide which regions may process your data. Your prompts stay inside the regions you pick and out of reach of anywhere you'd rather they didn't go.

Security by design

We treat every machine on the network as if a stranger runs it — so your secrets are removed before your request ever leaves you, your sensitive work only runs on machines you trust, and anything a machine does receive is scrambled and watched. Safety comes from the architecture, not from a promise.

No technical skills required

Traditional setups demand know-how — matching software to hardware, endless tuning. Stevai removes all of it. Installing a node and earning is meant to be effortless for anyone.

Responsible, never lawless

Shared infrastructure doesn't mean anything goes. The same ethical guardrails as the major AI labs apply, and models follow the laws of your own country — so you can't ask for anything that isn't permitted where you are.

Shared, but not leaderless.

Unlike a leaderless network, Stevai is operated by one accountable company. The compute is spread across many contributors, but a single liable operator directs the network: it vets who may contribute, can suspend a bad actor in minutes, and — crucially — ensures the network respects the laws of every country it touches. That oversight is what lets serious organisations trust it with real data. A malicious node is removed and blacklisted in minutes. Shared hardware for resilience and choice; a single operator for control and trust.
